1.     Desk / Telephone Expediting

This kind of service is generally performed on low criticality or non-strategic supplies. Desk / telephone expediting provides a valuable tool for monitoring the progress of orders with a manufacturer.This kind of service is generally performed at specific milestones or according to a frequency established by the customers, or suggested by the expeditor. The success of the desk expediting service is maximized if performed in conjunction with field expediting visits.

2.     Field Expediting

Field Expediting is performed to evaluate the accuracy of information from desk expediting. Here the expeditor physically will be visiting the vendor and discuss all issues and verify/ensure the information is correct. Any discrepancy observed, it will be discussed and take recovery plans to overcome the situations. And it will be reported and followed till providing a close out data.

Field Expediting can be of 2 types – Periodic and Full time.

3.     Full time Monitoring / Project Coverage

A full-time expediting service is normally performed whenever a client requires an expeditor to visit a certain vendor on a full-time basis for a given period of time. The full-time expediting services allow our expeditors to monitor all the production processes and ensure that the expected delivery dates are met.

 

Role of Expediter:

-          Issue periodic reports to client about the vendor and orders status,

-          Identify / resolve the schedule problems at all levels from the beginning till the delivery,

-          Proposing feasible and true recovery plans,

-          Evaluate weekly/monthly progress and assist the vendor/sub-vendors to meet required delivery dates.

-          Monitoring vendors supply chain for the specific project.

-          Suborders/ Critical Suborders Status

-          Material Availability

-          Purchase Order Delivery Date

-          Production Fabrication status & issues
